Club Pelican Bay's private, championship golf course is nestled in the heart of the Pelican Bay community.

Famed golf course architect Arthur Hills designed the layout, utilizing the natural landscape, including the lakes and ponds, while enhancing the setting with sculptured and contoured fairways, elevated tees and other visually appealing elements.

Arthur Hills was among the first group to play a "test run" round on December 28, 1979. The course officially opened on January 2, 1980. Thanks to the stewardship of Bob Bittner, Director of Golf Operations since our opening, the course did not need any major renovations until 2000, along with a major renovation completed this fall.

In the Fall of 2018, Club Pelican Bay contracted Golf Course Architect Ron Forse.  Each of the 27 holes – the Club, Pelican and Bay courses – is a par 36 and features Bimini fairways and rough along with Bahia accents and TifEagle greens.  Golfers enjoy warm Gulf breezes, the sight of shorebirds such as pelicans and herons, and nine sets of tees on each nine.

Club Pelican Bay has been certified as an Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary since 2016 and won 2015 Florida Golf Course of Year from Celebration Bermudagrass.

Men's and Ladies Golf

The Men's and Ladies' Leagues have large groups and active participation. Members of all skill levels are invited to join them.

Men play 18 holes on Saturday mornings, while Ladies can play 9 or 18 on Tuesday mornings.

Golfers may ride or walk. Everyone is encouraged to play from the set of tees most aligned with their handicap. (We utilize Rule 3-5 from the USGA rulebook to permit the use of separate tees during all of our competition.)

Golf Staff prepare official scorecards for all events, and winners earn Golf Shop credit. The competitions may include match play, better ball or a variety of team events.

Along with these weekly outings, there are special events throughout the year, including member/guest days, mixed couples events and our biennial Founders Fund Tournament.  Most Golf Events include great food and awards following play.

Practice Facilities

Club Pelican Bay practice facilities offer members and their guests a number of ways to warm up before a round or improve their game when not on the course.

Our two-sided range ensures that we maintain optimal grass conditions throughout the year. Golfers can aim at many separate target greens, each protected by bunkers. Both ends of the practice facility may be used to give the golfer different looks and multiple wind directions. 

For short game practice, golfers can utilize two separate chipping and pitching greens that feature bunkers as well as a large practice putting green.

The practice facility is open daily from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Hitting the right ball for your swing is important, too. Chat with us about your ball flight and how well you hold the greens, and we will recommend the appropriate ball for your game.

Golf Instruction

Learn golf fundamentals or tweak your game in our relaxed and friendly environment. We offer individual and group lessons for beginners and advanced players looking to hone their skills and enhance their enjoyment of the game.  Club Pelican Bay is equipped with the latest golf technology, Trackman, which will further enhance your understanding of your game by seeing all the data behind your ball flight.

In our "Game Improvement Series" clinics, we work with Members once a week for an hour and focus on a different parts of the game each week, including driving, fairway woods, chipping and putting. Members may sign up for one or more of the clinics, which are $20 each. Please see the schedule of upcoming clinics and register by calling the Golf Shop.

For more individual instruction, Members may schedule a private one-on-one lesson with any of our PGA or LPGA Professionals. Golf lessons are customized based on the Member's needs and skill level.

Date: Thursday's Time: 4:00-5:00 pm Ages: 4-9

Join Chris Trout and staff for a 1 hour golf clinic. Each day will include fun filled activities.
